Calendar

This project seeks to explore various printing techniques, combining them with photographic techniques, illustration and design to create a calendar that can be adapted and reused each year. The main focus of the calendar is the enduringness of the piece and how it can be displayed and developed each month. This outlook is reminiscent of the Scottish wildlife that the prints are inspired by and celebrates the diversity of our country.

I wanted to draw inspiration from things I am passionate about, bringing in the beauty I see in the wildlife surrounding me and making different exciting elements for the calendar. This project was also an interesting insight into how to balance true creation and marketability. The lessons learnt in the creation process hopefully will help me to manage creating pieces to sell in future, without compromising in quality or losing more complicated elements in the creation of them.

This project is a true passion project, with a priority in celebrating my loves, whilst exploring deeper and leaning more about my areas of interest in printmaking and textiles.
